awesome aubergine

my first piece of prada! the boy bought me this bag as my belated wedding gift. in the dim light, i thought she was brown but then he announced, "it's purple!" he selected purple because i had recently returned a purple badgley mischka bag - but that was a candy purple (it was a nicely shaped bag but such an unfortunate colour) - the shade of my new prada bag is much more pleasing. the boy did good. gorgeously grainy deep purple leather with brassy fixtures. even the inside is leather - soft supple milky leather. i can't wait to introduce her to the city.



after the last rainy wednesday, i had finally had enough of getting my feet and pant legs all wet during my walks to and from work. i figured that since i walk almost 2 hours a day, sometimes in the pouring rain, i am justified in purchasing a pair of rain boots. in fact, i'd be silly not to.

ok so i already have a pair of rainboots - but they're plaid and hardly suitable to wear to work. i'd be embarrassed if anyone saw me in them. so i went purposefully to try on a pair of hunter wellies. at first i was pretty sure i wanted navy boots - but i tried them on and they looked all wrong. i tried on the classic hunter green - but they too looked odd. i tried on aubergine - and they looked just right so i snapped them up immediately.
