let's meet at school
the designer and i met at school on saturday... for brunch!
i arrived early so i took a few photos while i waited. there's some lovely brick at liberty village.

seems i have a thing for post boxes lately. it's too bad i'm not happy with canada post.
when the designer arrived, we headed over to the restaurant. it is a pretty place with some nostalgic school inspired touches. this is not related to school but there were a bunch of snuggies near the patio - those silly infomercial blankies with sleeves - i assume for people who want to sit outside when it's chilly. too bad i saw them as we were about to leave. i started to get cold towards the end of our meal.
the designer had her eye on the super cheesy french toast with smoked bacon and greens - it sounded so good that i had to have it too. and my oh my, it was super delicious! the dish was served with maple syrup and wonderful sweet lemony butter. we gobbled it all up: butter, syrup, cheese, bacon, and all. i thought it was a strange mix but it worked. my last bite involved a piece of crusty cheese drenched in maple syrup.

following a nice leisurely brunch (even though the bees are still horrible and kept bothering us), we walked to bathurst and queen where we parted ways. the designer went to check out qwac and i went to buy jewellery supplies [read: i needed to go home and take a nap]. yummy times!
