asia - day 22 - close to home
our last full day in hong kong arrived way too soon. there was still so much i wanted to see but we were exhausted from the hike so we decided to stay close to home for our last day. i spent a little time in the morning packing - it's incredible the amount of stuff you can accumulate after 3 weeks of travel.
we had to run an errand at the mall so we picked up lunch in the fancy grocery store. no lie, we went to the burger bar. i guess we just couldn't wait until we got back to canada for our burger.
we planned to take it easy and we started by walking across the street to the botanical garden and mini zoo. i love animals and was pleasantly surprised!

this huge orangutan was so adorable. he woke up, swung over to a platform to pick up some greens, and swung back to his sweetheart to share them with her. i'm assuming the boy brought the girl the greens because that's what would happen in my ideal world. :)

after we got our fill of plants and animals, we took the tram up to victoria peak. it was steep and bumpy. and FUN.

the view from the top:
the little shops at the peak were full of cute stuff but we were hungry again already so we beelined to a cafe to grab a bite to eat.

we took a walk afterward off the beaten path but there wasn't too much to see up top.

it was beautiful and romantic when the sun started setting.

and then the sun was gone and the city lights shone brightly. and that was our last night in hong kong.
