asia - day 6 - kyoto
for our breakfast in kyoto, i spied something that looked like a little yogurt. i peeked inside and saw that it was most likely natto - basically fermented soybeans. i've never tried natto before so this looked like a ripe opportunity, haha. i've read icky things about it and upon first glance, sniff, and taste, all the stories were true. icky indeed, not my thing at all.

after my little breakfast adventure, the boy and i went out and about for a lovely day in kyoto!

this fella was busy intently feeding pigeons.
ummm... then he caught one!
it was a very long day and we walked what must have been miles and miles. we were reluctant to check out the philosopher's walk but i had read so many good things about it... so we squared our shoulders and continued on.

the walk was ok - quiet, relaxing, romantic, and slightly boring. the best part of it was our early dinner (seems we developed a habit of taking an extra meal between lunch and dinner every day). i really wanted to try the tofu that the area was somewhat known for. vince didn't go for that at all - instead he ordered curry.
for dinner that night, we had italian food - i had a major craving for pasta. and when we got back to the hotel, we relaxed by doing laundry!
one final picture for the day... i actually did a double take when i saw this on a screen in kyoto. i was staring at it intently when vince exclaimed, "hey that looks like you!" - and oddly it did. so much so that i was actually trying to think of times when i might have been videotaped getting a face massage (which of course was never). at last, my doppelganger!
