cutting it close

i've been literally itching to get a haircut for at least a month. akiko, my regular hairdresser, is difficult to reach and sometimes it takes ages to get an appointment with her. plus i want to keep my hair long for the wedding but akiko charges her regular price for a trim and it is not cheap.

basically, i just wanted a quickie cut and didn't want to pay too much. the playwright recommended seefu in chinatown and i read good reviews about it online so i tried it today. the deciding factor was the 30 degree weather in chile and imagining my thick horsehair pasted against my sweaty neck. so at 11:30 a.m. (less than 3 hours before having to leave for the airport), i made my way to seefu.

i was a little worried when they whipped me into a chair and started cutting almost right away. then i got a shampoo with a nice head massage, then back to the chair for a neck, shoulder, arm, and hand massage! then a blowdry, just a little more cutting, and a straighten. voila... a new me for only $35.
