a pair of pears

the boy and i went grocery shopping last weekend. while in the produce department, i came across these bad boys. even as i oohed and ahhed, the boy said, "ewww". i replied, "how wonderful for my blog". these abate fetel pears remind me of little penguins. green penguins with brown freckles and a sunburn.

i've not been eating a lot of fruit lately so i don't find the pears particularly appetizing but i'll give them a try so they don't go to waste. i think photography has replaced my obsession for food. at least i won't have to worry about gaining weight with this hobby. that is, unless i get a sudden desire to snap big macs.
